Il Paleofestival è un'idea di Donatella Alessi, conservatore del museo civico archeologico della Spezia, ed Edoardo Ratti, archeologo divulgatore e archeotecnico. Essi da tempo gestiscono le attività di didattico-divulgative presso il Castello San Giorgio sede del museo dall'anno 2000 che fa capo all'Istituzione per i Servizi Culturali di La Spezia. Diversi oggi sono i laboratori didattici e interattivi che vengono svolti presso il museo ed hanno stimolato la creazione di un evento dal anno 2005, con il tempo sempre più completo, che comprende anche attività svolte da specialisti e istituzioni esterne, anche membri dell'associazione internazionale EXARC, come musei e parchi archeologici italiani e stranieri che nel campo della divulgazione fanno utilizzo dell'archeologia sperimentale. Oltre alla possibilità per i visitatori di vivere un fine-settimana da veri antichi, l'evento, al momento completamente gratuito è una grande occasione di scambio di esperienze tra i vari tecnici e stimolo per gli operatori didattici di altri musei che visitandoci prendono spunto per rivedere le modalità delle proprie attività didattiche. In questo momento stiamo studiando come sfruttare le aree verdi intorno al museo per creare un parco archeologico permanente.

Paleofestival is an idea of Donatella Alessi, curator of the archaeological museum of La Spezia, and Edoardo Ratti, an archaeologist and adviser special operators. These long-run educational outreach activities at the St. George Castle home to the museum since 2000 that the institution is headed for the Cultural Services of La Spezia. Different today are interactive and educational workshops are held at the museum and have stimulated the creation of an event from the year 2005, with time more and more complete, which includes activities carried out by external experts and institutions, someone also members of the international association EXARC, such as museums and archaeological parks and Italian foreigners in the area of disclosure makes use of experimental. Besides the possibility for visitors to experience a weekend of true antique, the event is completely free is a great opportunity to exchange experiences among technical and educational incentive for operators of other museums that visitors will take a starting point for review arrangements for its educational activities. We are currently studying how to exploit the green areas around the museum to create an archaeological park permanently.

Le Paleofestival est une idée de Donatella Alessi, conservateur du musée archéologique de La Spezia, et d’Edoardo Ratti, un archéologue connu et conseiller technique du musée. Ces activités culturelles se déroulent au musée du château Saint George, qui est sous la direction des services culturels de La Spezia depuis 2000. Au fur et à mesure de nombreux ateliers pédagogiques et interactifs se sont développés dans l’enceinte du musée et se sont ces ateliers qui sont à l’origine du festival qui s’est ouvert en 2005 et qui depuis ne cesse de se développer. Désormais il comprend des ateliers menés par des consultants externes, également membres de la communauté internationale EXARC, et par des institutions comme les musées et les parcs archéologiques italiens et étrangers qui font ainsi connaître l’archéologie expérimentale. Outre la possibilité donnée aux visiteurs de vivre un week-end comme au bon vieux temps, l’évènement, qui est totalement gratuit, est une occasion excellente pour  échanger les expériences entre les nombreuses techniques mais c’est également stimulant pour les intervenants pédagogiques des autres musées qui, grâce aux visiteurs, peuvent faire des modifications  sur leurs propres activités didactiques. Nous étudions actuellement la façon d'exploiter les espaces verts autour du musée pour créer un parc archéologique stables.
